Lake trout fishing camp

Lake trout fishing camp

For four evenings, the youth board a boat with a professional guide from Pourvoirie 3 Ours to go in search of lake trout in the deep waters of Lake Memphremagog and Lake Massawippi. Each outing combines safe supervision, hands-on learning of fishing techniques, and the pleasure of being on the water in a small group.

The outings depart from North Hatley, on the waters of Lake Memphremagog and Lake Massawippi—two of the most beautiful salmonid bodies of water in Quebec. Depending on conditions and the season, the guide chooses the most promising lake for the evening.

On the Program

Techniques & Learning

The jig

A vertical, sharp, and precise movement, directly above the fish. The most interactive technique: you feel every bite in the rod.

The downrigger

A motorized weight lowers the lure to the exact depth where the trout are swimming. A great lesson in reading sonar and patience.

Leadcore line

A lead weight keeps the bait at a constant depth while the boat moves slowly. Ideal for learning patience and the guide's rhythm.

Sonar fishing

Using Sonar Helix 9, Panoptix Livescope Lvs 32 or 34 — see fish and structures in real-time under and around the boat.
